Term | Definition |

Acute triangle | A triangle that has each angle measuring less than 90 degrees. |

Coordinate plane/graph | A two-dimensional system in which the coordinates of a point are its distances from both a horizontal and a vertical line are called the axes |

Ordered Pairs | The pairs of numbers plotted on the coordinate graph. |

Origin | The beginning of ordered pairs (0,0). Center of a coordinate plane. |

Equilateral triangle | A triangle whose sides are the same length |

Isosceles triangle | A triangle that has exactly two congruent sides. |

Obtuse triangle | A triangle with one angle that measures more than 90 degrees. |

Perfect square | The product of an integer multiplied by itself (e.g., 121 is a perfect square because 11x11=121) |

Proportion | An equation showing that two ratios are equal. |

Scalene triangle | A triangle with no congruent sides. |

Radius | The distance from the center of a circle to the outside. |

Diameter | The distance from one side of a circle to the other side. The line passes through the center of the circle. |

Reciprocal | When you flip a fraction's numerator and denominator. |

Unit Rate | A rate per one |

Absolute Value | The distance a number is from zero. Is always positive. |

Mean | Average. |

Median | The middle number in a set of data. |

Mode | The number that shows up the most in a set of data. |

Range | The difference between the highest and lowest value in a set of data. |

Improper Fraction | A fraction where the numerator is larger than the denominator. It can be changed into a mixed number. |
