The following statement was issued April 8, 2026, by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Central Media Department, via Resistance News Network.
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) condemns in the strongest terms the broad criminal “israeli” escalation targeting Lebanese villages, towns, and regions, especially the capital Beirut and the Beqaa. It considers this a continuation of the approach of war of annihilation and systematic crimes committed by the occupation against defenseless civilians in the entire region.
The broad targeting of residential areas in Lebanon by the occupation is a full-fledged war crime, reflecting the criminal mentality of this enemy, which attempts to compensate for its military failures by targeting innocents and destroying infrastructure. This escalation also comes in a desperate attempt to obscure the heavy losses inflicted by the heroes of the Islamic Resistance in Hezbollah upon the enemy army, and the failure of its military and security apparatus to achieve any strategic achievement on the ground.
The Front points out that war criminal Netanyahu seeks, through this escalation, to cover up his disastrous failure to achieve his war objectives and his confusion regarding the recent agreement related to Iran, which has proven the futility of his policies and his inability to achieve any of his declared goals since the beginning of the aggression.
The Front confirms its full solidarity with the brotherly Lebanese people and its complete and unlimited support for the Islamic Resistance. It renews its absolute confidence in the ability of the resistance and its popular base to remain steadfast and thwart the enemy’s plans, and emphasizes that what the occupation did not achieve through the force of arms and intimidation since the beginning of the aggression on Lebanon, it will not be able to extract today through committing massacres.
The Popular Front, as it mourns the martyrs and wishes a speedy recovery for the wounded, calls upon the masses of our Arab nation and the free people of the world to move immediately to support the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples in the face of the “israeli” killing machine, which is supported by the United States.
