The Amerikkkan Baltimore Pig Department is no different from the countless other murderous Pig departments, agencies and branches that continue to maim and kill Black and brown people in the name of white supremacy. The Baltimore Pig Department maintains the web of violence that chokes Baltimore in the same way the military pigs enforce the web of violence that is currently carrying out a genocide across Southwest Asia and in the Caribbean.
In Baltimore, Pigs like Curlon Edwards can rape a child and have to serve only 6 years in prison of a 15-year sentence, when the average sentence is 20 years to life. Pigs can run people over with their cruisers the size of tanks and either get away scot-free or only be convicted of misdemeanors, like in the case of Robert Parks. Pigs can violate your supposed constitutional rights and stop you without reasonable suspicion or probable cause. They can raid your spaces, trash your belongings, and take what they want from what’s left, all in the name of “public safety.” They can play judge, jury and executioner as they gun you down by firing over 30 shots in busy, populated areas in the name of “public safety.” They can kill your son, get paid time off for 6 months and then immediately kill someone else’s son and face no repercussions like the Pig Omar Rodriguez. They can lie, falsify paperwork and plant evidence. They can harass you, your friends and your family all because they know that they have the immediate power in the form of a gun and a badge to get away with it.
The Baltimore Pig Department’s shooting of a 29-year-old man on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, near Lexington Market, is the most recent example of this free rein to maintain the web of violence however they see fit. The man was shot trying to get away. He was shot trying to leave a situation where he felt unsafe. He was shot for moving his parked car and having expired tags in an area where vehicle registration and maintenance fees are exponentially higher than any surrounding state.
This shooting comes after the Pig involved shooting of Tavon Newton, which occurred on April 2, 2026 around the Upton metro stop. Tavon was tracked on camera and ambushed by officers who met him with violence and weapons, all because he allegedly got into a fight with other people (a fight where no one was left wounded). BPD, in the name of “public safety,” ambushed this man and shot him in a busy public area in front of members of the community, a community that is still hurting from the trauma of losing Bilal Abdullah, who was shot by Baltimore Pigs just around the corner nearly a year earlier.
The city has declared war on Black culture and working-class people in the name of protecting gentrification and continuing the city’s long history of “Negro removal” policies. The Pigs that hunt dirt bike riders in the streets and raid their homes and sheds do so not because the dirt bikes pose a threat to their communities. They hunt, harm and kill riders because the riders are a symbol of resistance to white supremacy. When the Pack rides through the Black Butterfly, they are cheered and celebrated by the community. But when they cross into, as Fanon would say, the colonizers’ quarter, they are set upon by the full force of the Pigs’ arsenal. Riders in the Pack have been quick to note that every action taken by the Pigs to chase and stop these rides goes against the city’s own No Chase Policy. Sheds storing bikes are raided and the equipment inside confiscated.
This heavy hoof of the Baltimore Pig Department also comes down on those without Maryland license plates. It costs about $125 a year to register a car in Maryland and about $35 across the Potomac. The city’s answer to that gap is a police unit built to hunt Virginia tags. Pigs set up along heavily trafficked roads and swarm cars with VA plates. A close friend of mine and his partner were swarmed by no less than eight officers, some with guns ready, because they were riding in a vehicle that had Virginia plates. In a city where a lot of employment is gatekept through accessibility to reach it, workers are forced to make decisions in order to survive and play the game. Ninety dollars decides who gets to be legal.
The man shot near Lexington Market was originally set upon by a killer pig because he supposedly had Virginia license plates. Social media videos of Baltimore residents talk about how Pigs set up along heavily trafficked roads and swarm cars with VA tags with a number of officers. In a city where a lot of employment is gatekept through accessibility to reach it, workers are forced to make decisions in order to survive and play the game. In Baltimore specifically, more money is given to the Police to enforce an inherently anti-working-class policy than to actually fix public infrastructure and build public transportation alternatives. The city would rather spend its money harming its Black population than helping it with things like building dirt bike parks and the Red Line rail system that is meant to connect Black communities east to west through both the county and the city.
The Baltimore Pig Department maintains the redlining division and occupation of Baltimore in the same way the murderous Israeli Offensive Forces maintain their racist and genocidal occupation and division of Palestine through checkpoints. Parallels in Baltimore include the illegal checkpoints set up in Fells Point and building occupations where officers set up in housing units or abandoned buildings to harass and surveil the people. These tactical similarities are no coincidence. Baltimore Pigs are trained in the Zionist state of Israel, and that training and genocidal mentality are baked into every Baltimore Pig that makes it through training, no matter the Pig’s color, gender or creed. There are countless videos on social media posted almost daily that show how little the Pigs in this city care for the residents and how violently they handle Black people specifically.
The solution to the violent Pig problem is not reform. It is not committees set up to investigate claims and ultimately either let the case be forgotten or side with the oppressors. The solution is the destruction of the Baltimore Pig Department and the jailing of all killer Pigs. The solution is the proper disposal of capitalism into the dumpster of history. The solution is revolution! The solution is the creation from the ground up of something new, something formed by the people that has the hearts, souls and minds of the people baked into its creation, not genocide and profit baked into it.
