May 28 — Hundreds of people came out this evening in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, to protest the sale of stolen land in Al-Quds, the capital of Palestine, also known as Jerusalem. The demonstration was called by Pal-Awda NY/NJ.
They chanted “Stop the sales, settlers out of Palestine!” and “Palestine is not for sale!” Dozens of Palestinian flags were carried by protesters, who included rabbis and members of the anti-Zionist Neturei Karta Orthodox Jewish Community.
A truck circled around the event, also carrying Palestinian flags. Loud chanting was accompanied by the beating of drums.
A long banner read “Israel is killing children!” At least 20,000 Palestinian children have been killed in Gaza by U.S.-made and paid-for bombs and shells. More children were murdered in Lebanon and Iran.
The stolen land expo was advertised as the “Jerusalem, Your Home, Your Future” real estate event. It was also a recruitment fair by the racist settler organization Nefesh B’Nefesh. What about the Palestinians’ homes — which they were driven out of in 1948 — and their future?
These sales violate laws banning housing discrimination since only Jewish people can purchase the homes. It was held at the ritzy New York Hilton Midtown hotel, just north of Rockefeller Center, named for the founding family of Big Oil.
The Zionist regime exists to protect the profits of Big Oil. Former Secretary of State and war criminal Alexander Haig described “Israel” as “the largest American aircraft carrier in the world that cannot be sunk.”
Billionaires like the Rockefellers don’t care how many people are killed. They had 20 striking coal miners and their family members killed in Ludlow, Colorado, in 1914. The following year, five strikers were killed by Rockefeller gunmen at the Standard Oil refinery in Bayonne, New Jersey.
Zionism will fall
Star of the “real estate event” at the Hilton was the Zionist mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Lion. He’s a member of the racist Likud party, led by the genocidal prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Mayor Lion welcomed the destruction in January of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees buildings in Jerusalem. His deputy mayor, Aryeh King, called for the killing of UNRWA staff members.
More than 360 UNRWA staff members have already been killed in Gaza while providing humanitarian aid.
The Jerusalem Post — a Zionist newspaper which was originally called The Palestine Post — was upset by Thursday’s protest at the Midtown Hilton. They didn’t like the chant “Brick by brick, wall by wall, Zionism will fall.”
This newspaper was angered by a flag of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, which they slandered, calling it “a terrorist organization.” The PFLP is a socialist organization whose members study the writings of Karl Marx, who had two grandfathers who were rabbis.
U.S. slave masters also called Nat Turner a terrorist for leading a revolt of enslaved Africans. The freedom fighter was hanged in Jerusalem, Virginia, on Nov. 11, 1831.
Jerusalem — Al-Quds — will always be the capital of a liberated Palestine.
