May 2 is the 12th anniversary of the Odessa massacre, when Ukrainian neo-Nazis murdered at least 46 antifascist workers and youths at the Odessa House of Trade Unions. This crime against humanity was subsequently covered up by the U.S.-backed coup regime in Kiev.
Groups and individuals who participated in the massacre were elevated to the status of heroes and incorporated into the Ukrainian Armed Forces and police agencies, while survivors were imprisoned or driven into exile.
The Odessa massacre was one of the key incidents that set the stage for the ongoing U.S.-EU-NATO proxy war against Russia in Donbass and Ukraine.
In this video, Alexey Albu of the Marxist group Borotba, a survivor of the massacre, explains that the events in Odessa on May 2, 2014, showed the whole world that fascism had not been completely defeated in 1945.
We are living with the consequences of that today, including here in the U.S., where bipartisan support for neo-Nazi, anti-communist movements abroad inevitably spurred the growth of the fascist danger at home, epitomized by the Trump regime and the social forces supporting it.
Never forget, never forgive!
