On Sept. 1, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro held a press conference with representatives of international media in which he analyzed the current geopolitical situation in the Caribbean.During the meeting with journalists, the Bolivarian leader addressed the international situation from multiple angles, the main ones of which are presented below.
Venezuela rejects supremacism
“There are still those who want to impose supremacism and view us from afar as they did in the era of colonization,” Maduro said, questioning the patterns of international domination.
“The heirs of the old colonialisms and domination hold power and still view our nations with contempt and arrogance,” he emphasized, highlighting that global awareness against all forms of supremacism is awakening.
“A global awareness is rising that will not allow, under any circumstances, the imposition of a new type of domination and colonialism, either in Our America or in the rest of the world.”
Commander Chavez’s legacy has allowed the Bolivarian nation to defeat the blockade
President Maduro maintained that although Commander Hugo Chavez died 12 years ago, his ideas and work live on in the revolutionary socialism that Venezuela champions.
“We fought against the sanctions and the blockade and defeated them… Today, Venezuela’s economic system is robust. We also fought and defeated the political blockade.”
The attack on the Venezuelan presidential image seeks to destabilize the country
The Bolivarian leader emphasized that “empires need to demonize a leader to create a project… The attack is not against Maduro but against a people and a sacred history. Gentlemen imperialists: You have not been able, nor will you be able, now or ever, to defeat that history.”
The Bolivarian leader reaffirmed Venezuela’s position as a bastion of anti-colonialism and resistance, emphasizing that his nation stands as an example of a new global consciousness that rejects hegemonic power dynamics.“Its words resonate in a geopolitical context marked by multipolarity, where the global south seeks to consolidate its sovereignty in the face of external interference,” he said.
Maduro described Venezuela’s historical trajectory as a path of struggle, resistance, and revolution that extends into the 21st century through humanistic socialism. “This development model is distinguished by its inclusive nature and its commitment to the majority,” President Maduro explained.
Venezuelans respond with maximum unity to the U.S. maximum pressure policy
In the face of the maximum pressure exerted by the U.S. government in the Caribbean, President Maduro forcefully reaffirmed Venezuela’s position on the constant threats from the American empire. He emphasized that the U.S. policy of “maximum pressure” against the Bolivarian nation has consolidated the “maximum preparedness” of citizens to defend security and peace in their country.
U.S. foreign policy obeys the Miami lobby‘s dictates
The Venezuelan president emphasized that U.S. foreign policy toward Latin America and the Caribbean has become a mirror of the desires of Miami’s economic and political elites.“President Trump must be careful because Marco Rubio wants to drag him into a war against South America and stain the Trump name with blood,” the Bolivarian leader warned.
Washington’s cognitive warfare is accompanied by a real threat
The Venezuelan president highlighted that eight warships are targeting his country, carrying 1,200 missiles and accompanied by a nuclear submarine. “This amount of fire power constitutes the greatest threat to Latin America in its history,” he emphasized.
The U.S. military deployment occurs amid a “cognitive war” that the transnational media are implementing to repeat Washington’s baseless narrative that the Venezuelan state represents a threat. This pretext has allowed the Trump administration to deploy military forces to the Caribbean. Similar to previous occasions, Secretary of State Marco Rubio is seeking a “regime change” in Venezuela through the use of force, President Maduro denounced.
Venezuela has defeated the political and economic blockade
Maduro also emphasized that the Bolivarian Revolution has managed to defeat the economic blockade imposed by the United States and its allies that carries with it more than a thousand arbitrary unilateral sanctions.
It should be remembered that Venezuela also managed to collapse the diplomatic blockade imposed by 30 countries led by the now defunct Lima Group. The Bolivarian leader asserted that Venezuela has consolidated relations with the “new world” that is emerging on a multipolar basis on the global stage.
Marco Rubio wants to smear Trump’s hands with blood
“I want to express my gratitude for the open solidarity of the U.S. people, who increasingly reject their government’s desire to drag Venezuela into a war,” the Bolivarian leader said.
While Venezuela has demonstrated a willingness to maintain all channels of communication with the U.S. government, the bilateral channels that facilitated dialogue are in disrepair, given that “gunboat diplomacy is erratic,” Maduro explained. The Venezuelan President addressed the U.S. president to warn him that Secretary of State Marco Rubio “wants to smear his hands with Caribbean and Latin American blood.”
Venezuela is ready to defend its territory
“If Venezuela is attacked, we will resort to armed struggle to defend our national territory,” President Maduro stated categorically and forcefully.“We will declare ourselves a republic in arms to guarantee our country’s peace, sovereignty, and development,” he emphasized in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces.
