Baltimore activists were busy throughout the weekend with Pride, “No Kings,” and anti-war actions. Here are some highlights.
June 13 – During rush hour, activists with the Peoples Power Assembly came to say “Stop U.S.-Israeli war on Iran!” Baltimore’s motorists overwhelming showed support, honking continuously. SLL photo.June 14 – Federal worker speaks at Baltimore “No Kings” rally. At least 5,000 filled Patterson Park. Many marchers carried signs for Palestine and chanted “ICE out of Baltimore!” Local activists also responded with “No U.S.-Israeli War on Iran!” SLL photoJune 14 – During the “No Kings” march, the Peoples Power Assembly opposed to U.S.-Israeli war on Iran. PPA organizer Sharon Black said, “This war’s not in the interests of U.S. workers and the poor. People in this country can’t afford food, health care, and shelter, and they’re stealing more of our money to give to the banks and weapons’ manufacturers. They’re killing in our name while making us poorer!” SLL photoJune 14 – This marks the second straight year in Baltimore Pride’s history that such a pro-Palestine contingent has participated.
