Baltimore July 1: NO Israeli annexation! Free Palestine! End the deadly exchange!

Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM EDT

Howard St & Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard

Baltimore joins the International “Day of Rage” against the Israeli annexation of Palestine. Israel plans to annex its illegal settlements in the West Bank and Jordan Valley. This land rightfully belongs to Palestinians. Not only is this decision illegal under international law, but it will displace thousands more Palestinians from their lands.

Meet at the intersection of MLK Blvd and Howard St. We will begin at 6 pm.

We demand:
Self determination for the Palestinian people!
Right of return for all Palestinian refugees!
Free all Palestinian prisoners!
Boycott, Divest, and Sanction racist Israel!
End the deadly exchange between U.S. police departments and the racist Israeli military!

RACISM AND STOLEN LAND
Israel’s vicious racism is a mirror image of racism in the United States. Both countries were built on stolen land. The U.S. built its enormous wealth from Indigenous genocide and the labor of Black slaves stolen from Africa. Israel only exists because of the murder and expulsion of more than 1 million Palestinians from the land where their families lived for generations.

JUSTICE FOR GEORGE FLOYD
The murder of George Floyd at the hands of cops has sparked a mass, multinational uprising in Minneapolis and around the country. Internationally, thousands more have demonstrated in solidarity with protestors in the United States. In Israeli-occupied Palestine, Walid Ayyoub painted George Floyd’s face with a Palestinian flag on the apartheid border wall.

DEADLY EXCHANGE BETWEEN COPS AND ISRAELI MILITARY
In 2012, Minneapolis police and others from the Midwest attended a conference in Chicago held by the Israeli consulate. At the conference, the Minneapolis police learned about the racist and violent techniques that the Israeli military uses every day against occupied Palestinians.

The Baltimore Police, along with the Minneapolis police and many other police around the U.S., train and collaborate with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). Hundreds of cops have traveled to Israel for training and thousands more have received training from Israeli military officials here at home. The two countries exchange “best practices” in racist violence, political repression, and surveillance tactics.

PALESTINIAN PRISONERS
The Israeli military uses extreme, racist force against Palestinians, and also against Black Jews and Arab people who live in Israeli-occupied Palestine. The IDF regularly disables, abuses, executes, and tortures Palestinians. Children, elderly people, and peaceful protestors are equal targets of Israeli torture and murder tactics. Israeli prisons torture and maim Palestinian political prisoners who are on the frontlines of resistance against the apartheid state. They also subject female Palestinian prisoners to sexual assault and handcuff them during childbirth.

In the U.S., prisoners are often incarcerated on racist, false charges and work for slave wages. During the Covid-19 crisis, prisoners in the U.S. have been denied personal protective equipment (PPE) and soap.
